Matt's Shanghai

Overall... it's not a bad place to live for the short time I'm here. Most of the other people in the building are Korean, Japanese or Chinese from Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan that are again, not mainland Chinese and can not stay in the same building. It's been an interesting time already just trying to find out how things work around here. Buying cards for the internet and to use the local phones, having the cable turned off then trying to communicate in Chinglish that you did want cable and it's ok that it costs 68 RMB... I still want it. Oh... and the place is also air conditioned and I can control the temperature in my room too... so that's an added bonus in Shanghai, with the daily temperatures around 30�
Celsius (in the mid 80�'s F) with the humidity around 80%. The low temperature tonight is forecasted to be 23�C/73�F... so not much of a relief at night, but it is fairly windy which helps. Also, the sun rises around 5:00 AM everyday, today it was at 5:06 AM... talk about annoying when trying to recover from jet lag. Not that I was up at 5:06, that's just what the newspaper said, but still it's early.
